Colour Fading
Causes
- Water and moisture seep through the cracks of the concrete wall and dissolve the alkali in it. The paint is caused to fade by the dissolved alkali.
- The concrete wall has high alkali component so it can cause the coating to fade.
- Fading or poor colour retention can be appeared visually as chalking. Fading occurs more quickly in exterior environments where the painted surface is exposed to high levels of sunlight. Which might be occurred on new mensory wall that moisture content and alkalinity of the walls are still high.
